Breeding News!

Good news! Got Holly, Willow, AND Lola bred today! They all got two takes, and we'll try to get more takes tomorrow. The thing is, Holland bucks are kinda lazy, so we had to bred them to a Dutch and a Rex. Being their first litter, its hard to get them to be patient with a Holland buck, so we did this the first time with "non-lazy" bucks, so next time they'll know what to do... Holly's litter will be Holland Lop/Dutch mix, and Willow and Lola's litter will be Holland Lop/Rex mix. I'm excited for this mix! Thank you to my friend Emily(Daisy Creek Rabbitry) for letting me use your boys!

BABIES ARE HERE!

THEY HAVE ARRIVED! She had three babies. Two healthy, but the third one didn't make it. Two Broken Blacks(one of which didn't make it) and a Harlequin! She did such a great job! We also fostered one of our neighbor's babies (top) with Charlie. I'm worried about there only being two... So they were kind enough to let Char have one. He is a darling Rex. We even named them! Harli: Jubilee, Broken Black: Flurry, and Rex: Olaf. :)

Sad News...

Well, Charlie had three babies the other night, but were all stillborn. She had a Broken Blue, Solid Blue, and a Ruby-Eyed White(REW). She is doing great, though! Darn it! I'm totally bummed it didn't work out. At least Char is happy and healthy.

Breeding News!

Well, I guess it was a no go for Charlie. But we re-bred her along with Holly and Willow. We brought them to the rabbitry that we got most of our bunnies from, and mated them with her bucks. Charlie was bred with a Blue buck, Holly with the Blue and Tri-Color, and Willow with the Blue. They are due on November 4th! Lets keep our fingers crossed for the best!

Oh, Lola...

This sweetheart is such a nut. This is her pastime, I think. Who knows why, but it sure is cute. :)
Note: These were all from DIFFERENT days. There has been countless other times she has cuddled up in there. I just don't have my camera on me 24/7.
I'm gonna miss her being a baby.

About the Rabbitry.

Hi! I am starting this blog for my Rabbitry, MountainSide Lops. My name is Whitney Gilmore. I am a younger breeder, who has a love for rabbits, especially Holland Lops. I specialize in family friendly, pet quality Hollands. Some show quality babies as well. I also sell them with pedigrees. My herd is still young, so I haven't had any litters yet, but all my bunnies come from a very long line of the highest quality Hollands. Even though I'm newer to this bunny breeding thing, I feel like I am just as qualified as anyone else. :) I am excited to share all the cute things my little babies do, and keep everyone posted on upcoming litters.
